Our New Lens - Hiring and Retaining Sales Superstars
We have assembled a Squidoo Lens that you can visit by clicking here. The focus of the lens is sales hiring and retention. This version is our first pass at a lens so go easy on us. We plan on developing it further and adding more topic-specific lenses soon. We’ll keep you informed as we go.
In case you were wondering what a lens is:
SO, WHAT’S A LENS?
A lens is one person’s view on a topic that matters to her. It’s an easy-to-build, single web page that can point to blogs, favorite links, RSS feeds, Flickr photos, Google maps, eBay auctions, CafePress designs, Amazon books or music, and more. Then, when someone is looking for recommended information, fast, your lens gets him started and sends him off in the right direction. It’s a place for searchers to start, not finish.
If you're new here and like what you see, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

OK, I admit it - I should have known what a “lens” is, but I didn’t. I’ve heard of Squidoo, but you know, I’m busy - and hadn’t spent time to digest it. Thanks to you guys, I’ll pay attention now - would love to know what you think it delivers for you - and for your readers.
The right hand side of your page has a section called “SquidOffers for you” - is that something they put there? Or, did you choose them? I don’t think so, because I doubt Steven Levitt and Guy Kawasaki need much more exposure.
Another question - how do readers discover your lens if they miss this notice?
Thanks once again for educating me - I always learn something new from you - becuase you guys are always learning.
Michael - thanks for the comment. In response to your questions:
-Squidoo does place those right-hand ads on the page (though I am sure Levitt and Kawasaki are ecstatic to receive huge traffic from our new lens)(Ok, maybe they haven’t noticed yet).
-We have to promote our lens though you can join “groups” of other lensmasters (their vernacular) to receive some traffic - social networking I guess.
Squidoo is the brain-child of Seth Godin and his blog is the place where we started learning about it. Hope that helps - I’ve exhausted my neophyte knowledge of Squidoo. We will be posting further on it as we build out the lens.
I’m willing to follow you guys down every rabbit hole in Wonderland - just make sure you pick the right bottle to bring us back up to normal size. Your explanation helped a lot - lenses help one get started. And I know what my late nite web play will be this evening…following some of Squidoo’s wormholes and seeing if they lead anywhere interesting.
Thanks.
