This information can be found in a recent newsletter from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weddles.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Weedle&#8217;s<\/a>, which is a research, publishing, consulting and training firm. They surveyed 750 job seekers and asked them how much time they normally spend on a job board. Here are their findings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>29.1% spend more than 30 minutes on each job board they visit<\/li>\n<li>24.5% spend 11-20 minutes<\/li>\n<li>22.3% spend 21-30 minutes<\/li>\n<li>18.9% spend 6-10 minutes<\/li>\n<li>5.2% blow in-and-out in 5 minutes or less<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They also provided some suggestions when trying to determine which sites to use in recruiting active vs. passive job seekers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Active Job Seekers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Focus of the site<\/li>\n<li>Number and caliber of jobs that are posted<\/li>\n<li>Quality of the supporting job search content the site offers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Passive Job Seekers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>News and information about their industry or career field<\/li>\n<li>Developmental programs for acquiring advanced skills and certifications<\/li>\n<li>Blogs that enable them to access and comment on the views of thought leaders in the workplace<\/li>\n<li>Discussion boards that provide a way for them to network with their peers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I thought I would pass along some stats and information I found regarding job boards &#038; recruiting.
