Lazy.\u00a0 Insulting.\u00a0 Those are the first two words that come to mind when I read that opening.\u00a0 I suspect the author\u2019s belief is that everyone will agree to the opening question so it will be effective.<\/p>\n
It isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n
The opening approach needs to warrant the reader\u2019s attention, but don\u2019t do it in an insulting manner.\u00a0 The question has a subtle intimation that the person doesn\u2019t know how to do it\u2026but you do.\u00a0 That is a bad position in which to place yourself on the first approach to a cold prospect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
