{"id":1740,"date":"2008-09-26T08:55:50","date_gmt":"2008-09-26T13:55:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/selectmetrix.com\/blogs\/2008\/09\/the-true-life-assessment\/"},"modified":"2008-09-26T08:48:20","modified_gmt":"2008-09-26T13:48:20","slug":"the-true-life-assessment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/selectmetrix.com\/blogs\/2008\/09\/the-true-life-assessment\/","title":{"rendered":"The True-Life Assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was out all yesterday helping the medical clinic where my wife works move into a new facility.\u00a0 I am a wannebe geek so I moved their small computer network for them and installed a new computer for the owner.\u00a0 The interesting item I observed was the work ethic of the people involved.<\/p>\n<p>I like to say that some times you just don&#8217;t need an assessment.\u00a0 I think moving may be one of those times.\u00a0 To be blunt, moving blows no matter how you look at it.\u00a0 It is disruptive, tiring, laborious and messy.<\/p>\n<p>However, one thing you can clearly observe is the work ethic of a person.\u00a0 At one end of the spectrum, I observed people taking calls, scheduling appointments and selling products while they used moving boxes as their desk.\u00a0 At the other end, some people didn&#8217;t even show up.\u00a0 Needless to say, I was shocked.<\/p>\n<p>No matter what the talent level of the employee, effort is the greater assessment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was out all yesterday helping the medical clinic where my wife works move into a new facility.\u00a0 I am a wannebe geek so I moved their small computer network for them and installed a new computer for the owner.\u00a0 The interesting item I observed was the work ethic of the people involved.
